and the one that quietly settles into the days of most human beings. Death by a thousand dull and mildly depressing cuts.

Girls with the perfect like…on paper.

Faye and Samira are two college seniors trying to figure out who they actually are. On paper, they're enviable — final year at the prestigious Squa University, demanding internships at companies people would kill to work at, the kind of resumes that make parents at dinner parties go quiet in the good way.

In practice, they're tired.

Faye rehearses a smile in the elevator at her internship and snaps it off the moment the doors close behind her coworker. Samira spends her days at a fashion job where new ideas get shut down before they can breathe. Rin, Blythe, and Waverly each have their own version. The gray middle distance creeps in after years of doing everything right — they don't hate their lives, they just aren't really in them.

Behind the poker face, more often than not, they're kinda just…scared.

There's a version of each of them coasting through the routine because the routine has earned its place — even when it stops feeling like theirs. Some days feel like watching yourself from three feet outside your own body, clocking in and going home to a version of you you're not sure you still recognize.
